Festuca glauca
Foeniculum vulgare purpurescens
stipa-tenuifolia

This new build terrace design had to take two important requirements into account: concealing the lift equipment room, situated above floor level, and privacy screening. The equipment room was hidden by building a small tuff berm around it, with three apple trees and Mediterranean aromatic herbs planted on top. Set against the berm, a prefabricated swimming pool was installed above ground, with wood strip cladding all around. The use of wood recurs in the cedar strip privacy screen that runs along the parapet, and in the semicircular sunbathing deck at the base of the pool. Its shape is echoed by the curved garden beds with copper edging, planted with Buxus sempervirens and Stipa. Up against the house, a wooden pergola repeats the cedar strip motif of the screen.
